A businessman in Lamu has been abducted by masked gunmen who stormed his family home at around 8pm last evening. 

According to family members, about 6 heavily armed gunmen with two vehicles stormed the home of Mohamed Muse mire before taking him to unknown destination.

His close relatives said he had just returned from his shop to his family home at Witu before the gunmen stormed

A the time, he was with his children who were having a remedial tuition with a private teacher, they were left devastated and anxious.

‎Shocked children were told to go to another room and sleep while their father was struggling to make himself free from abductors.

‎”He resisted and there were a lot of struggle before they overpowered him and bundled him to a waiting Toyota probox”, close family member said.

The gunmen were reportedly traveling with two vehicles, a Toyota probox and a double cabin

Hundreds of family members converged at his family home demanding for immediate investigation and release unconditionally.

‎”We are asking for his immediate release, we don’t know his whereabouts, his family are in shock,” said Mohamud Yussuf, close family member.

Yussuf said if he has committed any crime, he right procedure should be followed by charging him in a court of law, the incidents he noted has left family members in shocked and devastated.
