Mogadishu- Somalia Federal Government President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud today received the credentials of newly appointed ambassadors representing eight countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Venezuela, the Republic of Korea, Mauritania, and the Republic of Iraq.
The credential presentation ceremony was held at Villa Somalia, where President Mohamud formally welcomed the envoys and extended his congratulations on the commencement of their diplomatic duties in Somalia.
In his remarks, the President reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation with its international partners.
He emphasized the importance of deepening collaboration across key sectors such as economic development, security, education, and cultural exchange.
“The arrival of your Excellencies marks a significant step in reinforcing the bonds of friendship and mutual respect between Somalia and your respective nations,” said President Mohamud. “We welcome your presence and look forward to fruitful cooperation during your tenure.”

The newly accredited ambassadors who presented their credentials to the President are:
Suleiman Dedefo Woshe – Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia
Robert Ifriyie – Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana
Maes Ennio – Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast)
Alejandro Eves Estivill Castro- Ambassador of the United Mexican States
Moravia Peralt Hernaldez – Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
Kang Hyundshik – Ambassador of the Republic of Korea
Hussein Deh – Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania
Kahtan Taha Khalaf – Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq
President Mohamud assured the ambassadors of the Federal Government’s full support and cooperation throughout their diplomatic missions in Somalia.
He expressed confidence that their presence would help foster stronger partnerships and advance shared goals of peace, prosperity, and regional integration.
