His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Fawzan Al-Fawzan following his appointment as the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and President-General of the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Fatwa, with the rank of minister.

In a statement issued on behalf of himself and the esteemed imams, preachers, muezzins, teachers, and staff of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Al-Sudais expressed deep appreciation for the royal trust bestowed upon Sheikh Al-Fawzan by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Sheikh Al-Sudais commended Sheikh Al-Fawzan’s vast scholarly contributions, describing him as a leading authority in fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and da‘wah (preaching) whose works have enriched Islamic thought within the Kingdom and across the Muslim world.

He lauded Al-Fawzan’s commitment to a balanced and moderate interpretation of Islam, aligning with the Kingdom’s vision of promoting moderation and authentic Islamic values.

“This royal appointment reflects the Kingdom’s wise leadership and its unwavering support for scholars and religious institutions,” Sheikh Al-Sudais noted. “It reaffirms Saudi Arabia’s enduring commitment to advancing the role of fatwa and religious guidance in strengthening moderation, balance, and unity within the Muslim ummah.”

Concluding his remarks, Sheikh Al-Sudais prayed that Allah Almighty grant Sheikh Al-Fawzan success in his new responsibilities and guide him in serving the faith, the nation, and its leadership.

He further prayed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to enjoy peace, stability, and divine support as it fulfills its noble mission in serving Islam and Muslims worldwide.
