On their second working day visit of their working visit to Somalia, the African Union delegation led by the Director of Conflict Management of the African Union Political Affairs Peace and Security Dr. Alhadji Sarjoh Baah and his delegation, together with ATMIS leadership were at the Presidential Palace, Villa Somalia to meet with the National Security Adviser Hussein Maalim,
According to a statement from ATMIS, the discussed focused on the ongoing security transition from ATMIS to Somali security Forces and the need to ensure a seamless transfer, avoiding security gaps.
The ongoing preparations for a post-ATMIS phase with realistic threat assessments was also covered.

During the meeting, the officials also identified areas that require further discussions, including the margins of the upcoming AU Summit to be held in February in Addis Ababa.
ATMIS has since 2022 been handing over security responsibilities to Somalia security forces in line with the United Nations security council resolution authorizing the withdrawal of the peace keepers troops from Somalia.
The Chief of Staff Abdilhakim Yussuf and the State Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Hirsi Gaani were in attendance at the meeting.
