Garissa Women Representative Amina Udgoon Siyad has on Wednesday inspected Garissa Referral Hospital, the venue for the ongoing Free Fistula Camp supported and facilitated by her office and other international partners.

The County MP noted that over 200 women suffering from either Fistula or other gynaecological complications have been screened in the last five days with over 40 others getting admitted at the facility and receiving treatment.

“Happy to note that in the last 5 days of the camp, over 200 women suffering from either Fistula or other gynaecological issues have been screened with over 40 women admitted, currently receiving treatment” said Udgoon.

I today paid a visit to Garissa County Referral Hospital to check on the progress of the ongoing Free Fistula Camp that my office and other partners have been supporting from 22nd September to Friday 29th September 2023.

She thanked the International partners and Garissa County government for making the camp successful.

The week long free fistula camp is expected to  come to a Close on Thursday 28th September 2023.

Leaders who graced the event included Garissa Township MP Dekow Barrow, Kiambu Women Representative Ann Wamuratha and UDM nominated MP Sulekha Harun.
