NAIVASHA– Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale today joined a high-level consultative meeting with the Council of Governors, chaired by Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki, to assess the progress of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) implementation.

In his address, CS Duale outlined key achievements and emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to strategic partnerships across public, private, and development sectors to accelerate access to quality healthcare.

He reiterated the need for continued collaboration with county governments to drive the government’s transformative health agenda under UHC.

Concerned about the rising maternal mortality rate, the CS directed regulatory bodies to provide quarterly reports to enhance monitoring and intervention.

The meeting also witnessed the signing of the Intergovernmental Participation Agreement on digitization and discussions on ongoing Ministry initiatives, including efforts to build resilient health systems, improve medical waste management, and scale up primary health care services.
