NYERI- Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe today presided over the inauguration of revitalized 4-K Clubs at Kihate Primary School in Nyeri. This is a deliberate shift by the government in grooming the next generation of agripreneurs through practical, school-based agricultural training.

The rebranded 4-K Clubs are being rolled out in all 31,218 public primary schools nationwide. So far, 1,222 Trainers of Trainers have been deployed in 36 counties, with 245 schools already equipped with greenhouses, irrigation kits, incubators, and value addition tools to support hands-on learning.

Speaking at the event, CS Kagwe said, “4-K Clubs are not just school clubs, they are innovation hubs. We are planting seeds of entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship, and food security in our children.”

The Ministry is also pushing for Digital 4-K to link learners with tech-driven farming solutions.

CS Kagwe called on counties, private sector players, teachers, and parents to support the initiative. “Let’s empower our youth to cultivate more than crops, let them grow prosperity and innovation,” he said.

In a passionate appeal, CS Kagwe urged alumni across the country to return to their former schools, revive the spirit of the 4-K Clubs, and support current learners. “Let us go back and give back.

The communities that raised us can be transformed if we lend a hand—whether through mentorship, resources, or partnerships that make agriculture attractive and sustainable for the next generation,” he added.
