NAIROBI– Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has on Thursday held talks with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Kenya, H.E Dr. Salim Ibrahim bin Ahmed at the Defence Head Quarters in Nairobi.
Discussion centred on wide range of issues tailored on enhancing the peace and security between the two countries.
They also explored possible areas of future cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
“We discussed a wide range of issues aimed at enhancing peace and security and explored areas of possible future cooperation for the mutual benefit of the citizens of our two countries.” said Duale.

Among those present in the meeting included; Assistant Chief of Defence Forces in charge of Operations, Doctrine and Training (ACDF OPD&T) Major General Fred Leuria and the Chief of Strategic Plans and Policy at the Defence Headquarters Brigadier Edward Rugendo.
Kenya and UAE have strong bilateral relations spanning over years.
The diplomatic relations between both Nations began in 1982 when Kenya opened its Embassy in the UAE which the latter reciprocated by establishing its embassy in Nairobi in 2012.
