NAIROBI– Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Minister and Prime Cabinet Secretary , Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, alongside his counterpart, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, presided over the Ministerial Session of the 3rd Kenya-Somalia Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) in Nairobi.

The session culminated in the signing of the agreed minutes from the Senior Official Meeting segment.

Dr. Musalia Mudavadi commended the longstanding and friendly relations between Kenya and Somalia, praising the collaborative efforts of both delegations in organizing the successful 3rd Session of the JCC.

Discussions during the session were centered on bolstering cooperation in various sectors including trade, infrastructure, security, agriculture, tourism, health, education, and the blue economy.

The commitment to enhancing bilateral relations for mutual prosperity and regional stability was underscored throughout the 3rd session of the JCC. Notably, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between the two nations, focusing on Education and Political Diplomatic Affairs.

The event was attended by distinguished delegates from both Kenya and Somalia, including Kipchumba Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary for Transport and Infrastructure, Rebbecca Miano, Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Investment, Aden Duale, Cabinet Secretary for Defence, and Ezekiel Machogu, Cabinet Secretary for Education, among others.
