Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, E.G.H., today received H.E. Kang Hyung-Shik, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, during a courtesy call at his office in Nairobi.

Dr. Mudavadi reaffirmed the warm and longstanding relations between Kenya and Korea, spanning over six decades, and commended Korea’s contribution to Kenya’s national development across key sectors such as; ICT, education, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, and socio-economic development.

He highlighted flagship projects at Konza Technopolis such as the Konza Digital Media City and the KenyaAdvanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST), set to launch in September 2025, as transformative symbols of Kenya–Korea cooperation.

The establishment of the International Vaccine Institute offices at Konza was also welcomed as a step forward in strengthening collaboration in health, science, and innovation.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary further underscored Kenya’s commitment to enhancing trade, labour mobility, energy, maritime cooperation, and climate change action with Korea.

He welcomed Korea’s support through the Economic Development Promotion Facility, KOICA projects, the K-Rice agricultural programme, and the planned opening of the Korea Exim Bank offices in Nairobi.

Looking ahead, Kenya and Korea will continue to deepen cooperation in green and blue economy initiatives, climate change adaptation, renewable energy, and sustainable construction.

Kenya also expressed interest in joining Korea’s Global Green Growth Institute and advancing green hydrogen projects to accelerate its clean energy transition.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to building a more balanced and mutually beneficial partnership, anchored in shared values, sustainable development, and prosperity for both
