NAIROBI– Celebrated Muslim cleric Mufti Ismail Menk on Thursday evening arrived in Nairobi for series of lectures (Dacwah) at various mosques across the city.

Upn arrival at Jommo Kenyatta International Airport ( JKIA), the scholar was warmly received by Jamia Mosque imam Sheikh Jamaludin Osman.

On his first lectures, Mufti Menk delivered Friday khutbah and also led the prayers at the Jamia mosque, Nairobi .

Thousands of Muslim faithful congregated at the biggest mosque in the city centre to listen to his soothing lecture and khutabah.

Among notable Muslim leaders who attended the khutah included Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Chief Khadi Abdul Halim Athman among others.

Earlier on, Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale was among Muslim leaders who welcomed Mufti Menk to Kenya at Jamia mosque Nairobi.

“Alhamdullilah! Joined other Muslim leaders and faithful at Jamia masjid to welcome and listen to the Friday khutbah (sermon) and prayers by our brother and renowned Muslim scholar, Mufti Ismail ibn Musa Menk. He is a Muslim scholar and motivational speaker with global recognition.” Said CS Duale.

According to Mufti Menk intenary seen by Frontier Online , the Sheikh is expected to visit various mosques across Nairobi for lecture.

He is set to conclude his tour of lecture on Sunday.

The last time Mufti Menk was in Kenya was in 2018 where he held a series of lectures, he was then recieved by former tourism cabinet secretary Najib balala.

While in Kenya that time, mufti Menk also met former President Uhuru Kenyatta at Sagana State lodge.

In 2014 and 2017 Mufti Ismail Menk was named one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre of Jordan.

The prominent cleric was also awarded a  Global Leadership Award in Social Guidance by the KSBEA Awards in 2015.

Additionally, the popular islamic scholar has more than ten million followers on Twitter and he at the same time follows only President of Zimbabwe.
