WAJIR – In a celebration of athleticism and talent, the Siyad Foundation partnered with the Wajir East Secondary School Sports Association to host the highly anticipated Term 2 2024 championship.
This event, touted as one of the most competitive and explosive in the subcounty’s history, showcased the burgeoning talent among secondary school athletes.
Secondary school games have increasingly become a focal point in the sporting world, drawing attention to the wealth of talent waiting to be discovered and nurtured.
The Siyad Foundation, dedicated to fostering young talents, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting these athletes at the grassroots level, ensuring they have the resources to excel.
Siyad Foundation, in collaboration with the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association, concludes the Wajir East Term Two 2024 championship.

On his part, Wajir East Sub-County Education Director Mr. Nuh Abdi Ibrahim applauded Siyad Foundation for its pivotal role in supporting and collaborating with the Ministry of Education to make the event a success.
“The Siyad foundation collaborated with Ministry of Education right from the sub-county level to the county level. And I have no doubt this time round at regional level Siyad Foundation will extend support as well” said Mr Nuh.
The championship, held under the auspices of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association, saw thrilling competitions across various disciplines.
Among the highlights were Wajir High School clinching the soccer and basketball boys’ titles, while Hon Dm Amin Girls triumphed in netball and basketball girls’ categories. Furaha Secondary School emerged victorious in boys’ volleyball, with Senior Chief Adano Girls claiming the girls’ volleyball crown.
In recognition of their achievements, the Siyad Foundation donated trophies to the winners and provided medals and kits to all finalists, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and encouragement among the participants.
This is not the first time that the Siyad Foundation has provided support to schools in Wajir county. Previously, the foundation spearheaded by its able patron and founder Siyad Hassan distinguished itself in uplifting and horning the talents of students in the county by sponsoring and feting inter-school tournaments.
The foundation has also been at the forefront in fostering and cementing cohesion among the society, fighting against drug and substance abuse.
It has been greatly involved in activities and programs geared towards preventing the youth from radicalization and joining extremists groups.
The patron of the foundation Siyad Hassan has occasionally reiterated his unflinching support to the youth in the county who have been ruined by drugs and intoxicants due to lack of jobs, promising them a brighter future in the posterity.
