WAJIR COUNTY- Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga today took his campaign to Wajir County as the August 8 elections draws near.
Raila who addressed a mammoth crowd at the historic Qorahey ground promised to address the perennial power outages that has rocked the county for the last five years saying his administration will prioritize the full restoration of Power in Wajir so that residents can do business with out hitches.
“When I assume the top office in the country, I will ensure that the power outages is resolved once and for all.”said Odinga.
The ODM leader also pledged to bring a solution to the deteriorating security in the county which has claimed the lives of innocent people and security officers.
Raila said that Wajir county residents deserve to enjoy a serene and secure environment in order to contribute to the development of the country and transact their daily businesses with out any problem.
Odinga further outlined that if elected as president in the forthcoming general elections he will ensure setting up a leather factory in Wajir so as to create employment for the residents which will in turn transform the economy of the county.

” Under my regime I will ensure setting up a large factory of leather in the county so that the people can get jobs and generate income for the county.” he said.
Wajir county in the last 2017 general election voted unanimously for the Jubilee Coalition with the governorship, senatorial going for the party while Women Representative was clinched by PDR formerly an affiliate of Jubilee Coalition then but has now changed to United Democratic Alliance (UDA) steered by Deputy President William Ruto.
Raila Odinga is contesting on Orange Democratic Party ODM ticket under the umbrella of Azimio La Umoja, a conglomerate of several parts working together.
Odinga is expected to battle it out with Deputy President William Ruto who is running on a UDA ticket.
