GARISSA– Defence cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Sunday graced the closing ceremony of the Garissa county Quran Recitation Competition ( Musaabaq) at the Masjid Umul Qayim in Garissa.
“Today, I was privileged to officiate the closing ceremony of the Garissa county Quran Recitation Competition ( Musaabaq) at the Masjid Umul Qayim in Garissa.” he said.
He underscored the importance of religious harmony and education in the nation.

The speakers at the closing ceremony, urged the participants of the competition to follow the teachings of the Qur’an to the latter.
13 year old Shuaib Adan Ahmed emerged as the overall of the 30 juzz and, was awarded a motor vehicle worth Ksh. 1.5Million.
Throughout the competition, Shuaib showcased his mastery of the Holy Quran, reciting verses with precision and passion, captivating the audience with his eloquence and devotion to the Holy Book.
Winners of different other categories were also feted with different prizes including hundreds of thousands in cash, certificates and copies of the Holy Quran.
In recent days, various Quran competitions have been convened in various areas across the country especially in the North Eastern region to honour the noble book and instill religious inclusivity and tolerance.
