Nairobi, Kenya -In a successful operation within the Kiambiu slums, Kamukunji Constituency, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has apprehended a 27-year-old male suspect linked to two high-profile murders, including the fatal shooting of a police officer and a civilian.
The suspect, identified as Paul Othiambo Owuodho, alias “Fazul Muhamed,” was arrested by DCI officers acting on intelligence gathered by the police.
He is linked to the murder of Abdirahim Abdullahi Ibrahim, who was killed in California, as well as the shooting death of Police Constable David Mayaka of DCI Makadara.
In a statement, National Police Service, confirmed the arrest, stating: “We are committed to bringing justice to the victims and their families. Mr. Owuodho’s arrest is a significant step forward in solving these cases, and we are continuing with our investigations to ensure that all involved parties are brought to justice.”

The murder of PC David Mayaka, who was shot on August 23, 2023, in the Mihango Kayole area, remains under investigation. The officer was fatally shot by three men riding on a motorcycle, a case that has been under judicial review.
The suspect, currently in police custody at Shauri Moyo Police Station, is facing charges related to the two murders.
Authorities have confirmed that the case is pending before the court, with further investigations underway.
