MOGADISHU- A fierce gun battle between Somalia security forces and armed bandits has left a prominent businessman dead in the capital Mogadishu’s main market, Bakaraha.
The bandits were reported to have been robbing the public off their valuables in the area.
The businessman who perished in the ensuing gun fire was known as Abdulle Awale Fiidow alias Sandheere was popularly known in the market and the regional States in the entire Somalia.
The deceased Abdulle Awale Fiidow succumbed to injuries he sustained from the clashes that broke out between the two factions inside the busy market.
Normally confrontations that break out between government soldiers and armed robbers in the capital takes a heavy toll on civilians who fall victim to the clashes.
Somalia is reeling from decades of civil war since 1991 after the ouster of the then president Siyad Barre and precipitated huge displacement of people and wanton death.
