WAJIR- It has been a week full of public rallies and dramas as almost every community in wajir county endorsed an aspirant for the gubernatorial seat in the for the coming general elections.
Just like the rest have, Mataan community endorsed Mohamud Abdikadir to contest for the top seat of the county.
Mohamud received a warm welcome from people of all walks of life in the town .
The gubernatorial candidate was given the traditional somali walking stick (bakora) which symbolizing the go ahead to run for the seat in the forthcoming August polls.
The elders of the tribe who spoke at the event, promised the Mohamud their full support and wishes him lucky as he makes his debut in politics.
Addressing journalists in Wajir town on the sideline of the event, Abdille said that he wants to fix the perennial power blackout that has and continues to wreak havoc the county underscoring the importance of electricity in the day to day activities of human beings.
“You all know that Wajir we have electricity problem, that is one of things I want to fix and we have been a community that lives in the darkness and you all know the importance of electricity and the impact it has on development.” said Mohamud
Mohamud further outlined that he will create an employment for the youth who are unemployed in the county and identify where their is deficit.
“The youth are unemployed and will make sure we create an employment for the youth by making sure that where we have deficit and make sure that our youths can apply our daily lives and we want to make education based on growth.”outlined Abdille.
Wajir West MP Ahmed Kholosh applauded the Mataan clan for coming out in large numbers to endorse Mohamud Abdikadir for the gubernatorial seat and said that he will only acknowledge Abdille as the sole flag bearer of the clan.
“I would like to thank our Mataan people for coming together in unison to endorse Mohamud Abdikadir as the candidate for the community and urge you to throw your weight behind him.” said Kholosh.
Candidates seeking to run for the coveted governorship seat in Wajir county continues to grow by the day as elections slated for August next year draws closer.
