Somali Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Issack Mursal is in Lusaka, the National capital of Zambia.
Mr Mursal on Tuesday attended the 18th meeting of COMESA Ministers of Foreign Affairs .
Challenges facing the COMESA region such as peace, security and climate were the main agendas discussed in the meeting.
The meeting which was opened by Vice President of Zambia Mrs Mutale Nalumango also the featuring of discussions of elections held in COMESA region since last summit.
According to a statement carried on his Twitter handle, Issack says the address the challenges plaguing COMESA member countries and proposes possible solution for these problems.

A communique seen by Frontier Online stated that the Minsters hailed the resolution of the conflict in the Tigray region in Ethiopia and the renewed hope that Libya is getting back on track towards implementing components of the Ceasefire Agreement.
The statement added that the ministers however expressed concern with the recently development in Sudan where
deadly escalation of fighting have been witnessed between the military and the paralimilitary unit-Rapid Support Force commanded by General Mohamed Hamdan which has led to civilians killings and destruction of key infrastructure.
The meeting is a precursor to summit of the the 22nd COMESA Heads of State and Government Summit which is set to be held in Lusaka, Zambia on Thursday 08 June 2023 where the report of the Ministers’ meeting will be presented.
