Mogadishu- The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, has on Thursday received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Somalia, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Mawlid, at his office in the capital Mogadishu.

The meeting focused on enhancing the strong and brotherly relations between the two nations, with emphasis on cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Hamza expressed deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continued support to the Somali government and its people.

He specifically acknowledged the Kingdom’s vital contributions in the fields of humanitarian assistance, security support, investment, and the development of key infrastructure in Somalia.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in rebuilding Somalia and commended the role Saudi Arabia plays as a steadfast ally committed to the country’s long-term stability and growth.

In return, Ambassador Al-Mawlid reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to supporting Somalia’s development.

He stressed Saudi Arabia’s readiness to participate in crucial infrastructure development projects and its support in Somalia’s efforts to eliminate extremist threats, particularly from the Khawarij groups, to ensure lasting peace and progress.

Both parties agreed to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties and work closely on shared priorities that benefit the citizens of both countries.

This meeting reflects the deep-rooted brotherhood and growing collaboration between Somalia and Saudi Arabia, setting the stage for greater achievements in the years to come.
