Somali Horn Of Africa Analyst professor Abdiwahab Sheikh Abdisamad who had been abducted by unknown armed people on 8th September in Nairobi CBD has been released by his abductors on Sunday evening.
Those who visited him at his South C home said he told them he was out of Nairobi but did not know where.
“He says that he had been feeding well and his abductors took him out of Nairobi where they asked him several questions,” said one of those who saw him on Sunday.
It is still unclear who abducted Abdiwahab Abdisamad ,why or where he was being held for over 10 days without communication.
Professor Abdiwahab’s brother Abdiaziz Sheikh Abdisamad told the media,” he is well and in good health he came home 9pm last night(Sunday evening) and he is with the family members, we heard that he was injured on his hand but we have come to see that he isn’t injured in any way, he is calm and taking his coffee.”He added that Abdiwahab will not be filling case in court and the most important thing is that he is home safe and sound.
Professor Abdiwahab’s friend Ahmed Hashi wrote on his twitter handle, “I have just met my friend Dr.Abdiwahab. He asked me to say this on his behalf,” I wish to thank everyone who helped in my release. Given the circumstances I shall be taking time off to heal with my family, so i will be away from twitter for a period”

Officials from Northern Advocacy Organization too confirmed the release of Abdiwahab who was abducted on September 8 along Tubman Road in Nairobi. Northern Advocacy Organization Founder also confirmed the release of Abdiwahab who was abducted on September 8 along Tubman Road in Nairobi.
“We are pleased to inform members of the public that Prof Abdiwahab Sheikh Abdisamad was returned on Sunday evening on September 19, 2021, and is now with his family. More information will be shared by the family in due course,” said Mr. Nassir Adan

Former deputy Speaker Farah Maalim, also confirmed the release of Prof Abdiwahab Abdisamad via his Twitter handle and thanked the public for their support.
“Our Brother Dr. Abdiwahab Abdisamad has been released. I wish to thank all the defenders of freedom in our country & abroad who stood by our valued Scholar/Warrior for Regional Peace & Stability. We must defend with our last drop of blood our freedom of speech/association.”

The family of Prof Abdiwahab Abdisamad has not yet issued an official statement regarding the releases of their kin by his captors.
