TARBAJ, WAJIR- In a landmark move aimed at transforming the educational landscape of Tarbaj Constituency, Member of Parliament Hussein Abdi Bare has officially launched a Ksh 42 million bursary fund the largest education support initiative in the history of the Constituency.

The launch event, held at the Tarbaj Teachers Training College, was attended by local leaders, Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), parents, teachers, and education stakeholders, all united in support of advancing access to quality education in the constituency.

The bursary is set to benefit over 5,780 students, including 2,500 in tertiary institutions, 3,000 in secondary schools, and 280 students under partial scholarships. Among these are 110 students from the host institution, Tarbaj Teachers Training College.

Speaking during the launch, MP Hussein Abdi Bare expressed his pride in the initiative, emphasizing the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering future generations.

“Today marks a historic moment for the people of Tarbaj. These beneficiaries are not just numbers—they are the dreams and aspirations of our youth who now have a chance to learn and succeed without the burden of financial constraints,” Bare said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that every deserving student in Tarbaj has access to quality education, stating that education remains at the heart of his development agenda.

“I believe education is the most powerful tool we can use to build a self-reliant and progressive community,” he added.

The MP also urged students to make the most of the opportunity by working hard and staying focused, reminding them that they carry the hopes of an entire constituency.

The event concluded with a call for continued collaboration among parents, educators, and local leaders to sustain and expand educational opportunities for all.

This historic bursary fund is expected to significantly boost educational outcomes in the region and serve as a model for similar constituencies across the country.
