NAIROBI– The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, today hosted the leadership of the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) at Afya House, Nairobi, to review the implementation status of the Return-to-Work Agreement.
The union was represented by Secretary-General Dr. Davji Bhimji Atellah, Chairperson Dr. Abidan Mwachi, and other senior members.
CS Duale, accompanied by the Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, CBS, reaffirmed the Ministry of Health’s commitment to constructive engagement with the union.
He recognized the pivotal role of healthcare workers in sustaining quality health service delivery nationwide, noting that safeguarding their welfare and rights is central to the successful rollout of the government’s Taifa Care model.
The Cabinet Secretary reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to continued consultations with key stakeholders in the health sector to identify sustainable, long-term solutions that will enhance access to quality, affordable healthcare under Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda.

CS Duale further emphasized the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to fully implementing the Return-to-Work Formula, commending KMPDU for its continued cooperation and highlighting the importance of structured dialogue and mutual accountability in addressing outstanding matters.
