Though newcomers to politics having joined the political podium in 2017, they have displayed their political astuteness to the chagrin of many political pundits.
They might not get re-elected in the forthcoming elections for their respective quest for parliamentary seats in Fafi and Wajir South respectively, but ignoring them in the political discourses ahead of the 2022 election is tantamount to ignoring a doctor’s prescription for reconstructive surgery.
Garissa woman Rep Hon Anab and her Wajir counterpart, ever glittering Hon Fatuma, declined to embrace the role played; by their predecessors’ female politicians in Kenya: that of carrying bags for senior men politicians or be a flowers girl in the tables of political deals.
The duo aggressively fought their way into the national political stardom and the hearts of two leading presidential contenders: Rt. Hon Raila and DP HE Ruto.
Hon Anab has shown her stake in Ruto’s camp by taking a delegation of UDA supporters from Garissa to Karen, the political commander nerves, of Dr. Ruto’s campaigns for the presidency.
By extending his invitation to Anab supporters at Karen ahead of other senior UDA politicians from the region, Dr. Ruto was sending a political message that Hon Anab is his political darling.

Before bearing her political “sharp teeth” Hon Anab was nicknamed Tomato (due to perceived political softness) by her political distractors. And, it was a shock to her political enemies when she turned out to be a pepper, whose bitterness no one could dare to stand on her way without shedding tears.
Hon Gedi has equally turned humiliation (slapping and manufacturing pornographic videos) thrown at her by senior male politicians into an arsenal to fight her way into the heart of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his newfound older brother Rt. Hon Raila.

She now makes critical political decisions at the handshake political realignment.
