The United States government has emphasized on the need to expedite the disputed elections of Somalia and bring to an end President Farmajo and Prime Minister Roble wrangles as possible.
Bureau of African Affairs, a division of the US State Department, in a statement carried on their official Twitter handle stated that President Farmajo and his PM Roble should quickly resolve their squabble.

Mary Phee Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs earlier today met with Somalia’s foreign affairs Minister Mohamed Abdirizak and discussed and raft of issues pertaining current state of affairs in the Horn of Africa country.
On his part Somalia Foreign Affairs Minister Mr Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud said he had fruitful meeting with Mary Phee which was tailored on enhancing peace, security and prosperity in Somalia.
“I had a productive meeting with the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Mary Phee. We discussed Somalia’s progress toward ongoing elections and the region. The #US remains a committed partner to #Somalia’s peace, security & prosperity” tweeted Mr Abdirizak.

Somalia president Mohamed Farmajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Roble have been feuding several Key issues amongst it being the case of Ikran Tahlil Farah, a spy agent attached to Somalia’s National Intelligence which sparked public outcry across the globe and continue’s to elicit various reaction among different quarters.
Efforts to bring together the two top leaders have recently hit a snag with some quarters alleging that President Farmajo is derailing talks and accused him of brinkmanship.
Somalia presidential elections that were slated to take place on October 10th of this year was again postponed to unspecified date which could possibly ignite political tussle among the top political brass in the country which is reeling from decades of civil of war.
