NAIROBI-Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has called for president Mohamed Farmajo to exit and expedite the long delayed elections that have sparked off controversy in the country.
Ilhan said president Farmajo has surpassed his mandate by a year calling for him to step down.

The international partners has called on the too Somali government to accelerate elections and de-escalate the rising tension in the capital Mogadishu to prevent a clash that could disrupt the peece witnessed in the capital.

The US Africa Command has also called for the stabilization of the current political and electoral situation and urged the Somali government to direct their energy to fighting militants in the country.

This comes as Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein said on Monday his cabinet is responsible for leading the country and has ordered all security commanders in the country to take orders from him and not President Farmaajo.
Roble warns any security chief who fail to report to him will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo had on the Monday night in a statement said that he had suspended the PM over corruption and grabbing of public land belonging to the Somali coastguard.
President Farmajo accused PM Roble of trying to derail the investigation into the accusation of grabbing of Naval forces land and doing a cabinet reshuffle to undermine and kill the allegations.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble in a press conference dismissed the accusations and vowed to continue discharging his duties despite a suspension from the president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo whom he termed as former immediate president.
PM Roble said that president Farmajo is trying to blatantly overthrow the government and the constitution innan attempt to disrupt the ongoing elections in the country.

Roble on Sunday moved in a cabinet reshuffle moved Hassan Hussein Haji from defence to justice while Abdullqadir Maxamed Nuur (Jaama) changed positions from justice to defence docket.
Farmaajo accused the PM of the changes in light on ‘investigations’ on him over allegations of grabbing land belonging to the navy.
