MOGADISHU-The National Consultative Council meeting hasNCC meeting kicks off in Moqadishu amid calls for speeding up of elections started in Mogadishu on Monday after facing challenges of its start on 27th December following the alleged ouster bid by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo have on his Deputy last week.
The meeting which is attended by Federal Member States presidents is chaired by Prime Minister Mohamed Roble and will touch on accelerating elections, improving electoral procedures and agreed upon final schedule.
This comes amid political tiff between president Mohamed Abdullahi and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble after the president announced he had suspended the powers of the PM over alleged failure of speeding up elections and corruption after the PM was accused of grabbing land belonging to the National Army in Liido Beach accusations Roble has distanced himself from and instead blamed President Farmajo of obstructing elections.
