MOGADISHU-Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has welcomed the outcome of the six days National Consultative Council meeting held in Mogadishu chaired by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and attended by regional leaders and Banadir governor Omar Filish.
In a televised address on Monday night, president said that the responsibility is now on the National Consultative Council Members to adhere to and implement the decisions so as to speed up the elections and take the country out of this protracted electioneering period.

President Farmajo also praised the security forces for their diligent and hardworking in serving the citizens round the clock and in fighting Al- Shabaab militants who have made it a norm to killing and injuring innocent civilians.
“We have made great strides in the improvement and enhancement of our security forces in dealing with militants and assume responsibilities from the outgoing AMISOM peace keepers” said president Farmajo.
He also urged the youth to take part in the building of the Nation and play a significant role and encouraged the citizens to live in peace and harmony.
The president speech comes amid heightened tension between him and the Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble who have been feuding over the management of elections and corruption which the Prime Minister was accused of leading to his suspension and blockade from office which the PM Roble termed as attempted constitution coup against the government and vowed to continue with his duties.
