NAIROBI-Sheikh Jamaludin Osman, the imam of Jamia Mosque Nairobi has condemned the abduction of Roba Abduba Sereka alias Mwalimu Roba who was kidnapped in South C, Nairobi by unidentified people aboard two Vehicles- a land cruiser and Subaru on Tuesday.
“I condemn the abduction of Mwalimu Roba and demand for his immediate release or arraignment in court if he had committed any crime or violated any existing law” stated Sheikh Jamaludin.
Speaking during the Friday Sermon session, the Sheikh urged the Muslim Community to stop propagating fallacious information against fellow Muslims saying propagation or provision of such vital information could spark animosity between the State and the Muslim Ummah.

“I urge you my fellow Muslims to cease from spreading false reports about your fellow Muslims and said those spreading spying against fellow Muslims will have a heavy burden to answer” said the Imam.
He further asked the government to produce or release Mwalimu Roba as soon as possible if he is in their hands stressing that the country is governed by established laws and constitution.
“I call upon the government to produce Mwalimu Roba if he is in their hsnd and let the law of the country take its course”said Sheikh Jamaludin.
According to his wife, the business man went out to run some errands and called her twenty minutes later to asking her to cook for him tea but waited until 2PM where they became concerned about his whereabouts.
“He left home to run some errands but after 20 minutes, he called me asking me to prepare him tea. I waited until 12 noon assuming that he had gone to the Mosque. At around 2pm we became worried because his phone was off,” said
Footages obtained by the Media, the CCTV footage showed the vehicle that took Mwalimu Roba speeding away in a huff after curious onlookers gathered to save from the abductors.
Further footage obtained by HAKI Africa, the businessman identified as Roba Abduba Sereka is bundled into a Landcruiser hardtop at gunpoint along Muhoho Road in Nairobi’s South C estate. The incident took place on Wednesday, February 2, at 10am.
Local leaders led by Marsabit Governor, Mohamud Mohamed Ali , called on the security officers to produce or disclose to the Family the whereabouts of Mwalimu Roba.
“Roba must be produced in court if at all he is involved in any crime or suspected. Let him face the law, not abductions,” governor Mohamud said.
His sentiments were also stressed by nominated Senator Naomi Waqo who queried whether the security personnel are in control of what is happening in the country.
Langata Sub County Police Commander, Benjamin Mwathi has since confirmed to journalists that they are investigating the incident.
