MOGADISHU. At least 11 people including soldiers were killed and scores of others injured last night in the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu after a suicide bomber attacked a tea shop.
Eyewitness say that a suicide bomber walked into a tea shop and detonated an explosive vest between Halane Gate and General Dhagabadan military training centre next to Mogadishu’s Aden Abdulle airport and the headquarters of the Africa Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM)
Al- Shabaab militant group later claimed responsibility for the attack.
Somalia Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein condemned the attack by the militant group in a statement posted on his Twitter handle.”I condemn today’s bombing by Al- Shabaab terrorists group at a tea shop in Wadajir district which claimed the lives of innocent people and injured others” said the prime minister.
Roble said that the incessant and indiscriminate attacks by Al- Shabaab show that they are hungry and thirsty for the blood of the Somali people and called for concerted efforts to combat with the militia.

A- Shabaab is trying to topple and overthrow the internationally-backed and recognized Somali government and impose Islamic Sharia in the Horn of Africa country which is reeling from decades of civil war.
The militia was driven out of Mogadishu in 2011 but still controls swathes of territory from where they plan and launch frequent deadly strikes against government and civilians.
