MOGADISHU– High-ranking military officers drawn from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia ( ATMIS) and Somali National Force have on Wednesday successfully winded up a two-day security meeting in the capital Mogadishu.
The meeting which majorly evaluated the effectiveness of Joint Operations Centres (JOCs) in enhancing coordination and efficiency in the war against Al-Shabaab militant group and armed illegal groups.
ATMIS has been at the forefront in the coordination and extermination of the Al- Qaeda affiliate group from several areas in the Horn of Africa Nation.
The African Union Peace Mission has also been involved in providing training to the Somali National Army and Police Force which have instrumental in the efficient delivery of duties by the government Forces.

On the other hand, Sector Five Commander Maj. Gen. Jean Claude Niyiburana on Wednesday held meeting with a delegation from UNSOS led by Andrew Rigg who are on a working visit in Hirshabelle regional State.
The discussions focused on the prevailing security situation and the threats posed by river flooding in the current rainy season.
