MOGADISHU- Banadir Hospital director Fartun Sharif has on Saturday received at the hospital, UNICEF Somalia representative Wafaa Saeed Abdelateef.
Fartun was accompanied by Dr Aden at the time of the meeting.
In a statement posted on her official Twitter handle, The envoy said mothers she met at the facility narrated how their children improved significantly albeit weakness attributed to lack of nutrition.
Mothers whom I met at the stabilization center at Banadir hospital, all told me that their children – despite still weak- have improved significantly including Abdelhafiz, Sumaia and Mohamed. Director Fartun and her team are doing a fantastic job, their action brings hope https://t.co/V7KHKgMLtr

Abdelateef commended the incredible work of Director Fartun and her team in helping and serving the local residents and patients coming to the hospital saying their actions bring hope to the people.
Banadir is the only hospital in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu treating drought affected children with around 300 children a month in the Stabilization Center, supported by UNICEF.
Somalia is currently experiencing the worst drought in decades following four years consecutive failed rainy seasons.
