KERICHO– Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale today joined the leadership and residents of Kericho County to underscore the government’s commitment to strengthening Kenya’s health sector.
In his keynote address, CS Duale outlined ongoing health sector reforms under the Kenya Kwanza Administration, including the rollout of Social Health Authority (SHA) registration and benefit packages, and the digitization of health services—key pillars in operationalizing the Taifa Care Model.
The Cabinet Secretary also announced plans to construct a Level 6 Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kericho, in partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB).
The Ministry of Health has pledged to expedite the titling of hospital facilities nationwide as part of efforts to safeguard public land and enhance healthcare infrastructure.

The proposed facility is expected to significantly advance access to specialized care and support the country’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals.
He further urged county leadership to ensure full integration of all Primary Health Care facilities into the SHA programme to guarantee equitable service delivery at the community level.
CS Duale was hosted by Governor Erick Mutai and joined by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, along with other senior government officials.
