GARISSA Cabinet Secretary for Health Aden Duale presided over the 8th graduation ceremony of Daarul Aafaaq Islamic Education Centre in Garissa County, where he commended the institution for its role in nurturing students in Religious Education, Quran memorization, and Islamic ethics.

Addressing the congregation, CS Duale lauded the graduates and their families for their commitment to Islamic education and moral development.

He used the platform to rally residents to register for the newly launched Social Health Authority (SHA) under the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) initiative, emphasizing its importance in ensuring access to healthcare services across all public and private facilities.

Duale also noted the collaborative efforts between national and county governments in reducing maternal mortality rates, pledging continued support from the Ministry of Health to strengthen family health services.

Touching on matters of governance and public trust, the CS reinforced the principle of Cabinet Collective Responsibility and urged security officials to uphold integrity in their duties.

He further directed county commissioners to take decisive action against police exploitation and work towards restoring confidence in law enforcement agencies.

He was accompanied by Garissa County Commissioner Ramadhan Mwabudzo, Dr. Bashir Isaak – Director of Family Health at the Ministry of Health, several Members of County Assembly, and other senior officials.

The event marked a significant milestone for the graduates and underscored the government’s ongoing commitment to both education and public health reform.
