NAIROBI- Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale today visited the TaifaCare Support Centre, the operational hub of the national 147 Hotline, in a move aimed at assessing the remarkable progress made in transforming Kenya’s healthcare delivery system.
The TaifaCare Support Centre, powered by the Digital Health Agency (DHA), has emerged as a vital bridge connecting citizens, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
Since its official launch in October 2024, the centre has handled over 1 million calls, offering real-time resolution of healthcare issues and collecting vital citizen feedback to drive policy and service improvements.
During the visit, CS Duale lauded the initiative for its innovative and tech-driven approach to delivering healthcare services. “TaifaCare is not just a call centre—it is a game-changer in how we listen, respond, and deliver care to Kenyans,” he stated. “This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to a people-first, technology-enabled healthcare system.”

The centre is now looking to enhance its services further through the integration of AI-powered chatbots, which will allow even more Kenyans to access support quickly and efficiently, regardless of location or time of day.
The initiative is a cornerstone of the government’s broader strategy to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC), anchored in responsiveness, transparency, and efficiency.
Citizens who are not yet enrolled are being urged to register through the *147# USSD code or via the AfyaYangu Platform. In addition, all concerns and service-related issues can be reported to the TaifaCare Support Centre using the toll-free number 147.
As Kenya continues to embrace digital innovation in public service delivery, the TaifaCare Centre stands as a shining example of citizen-centered healthcare reform and a pivotal step toward equitable health access for all.
