WAJIR– Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale Friday led top security agents from northern Kenya for a consultative meeting with leaders and locals residing in Diff, Gherille, Konton and Kotulo areas along the border with Somalia, in Wajir County.
Speaking in separate meeting CS Duale emphasized the need for concerted efforts in sharing intelligence so as to neutralize the activities of the Al-Shabaab militia.

“Further, I affirmed that the outlawed militia shall not find abode in Kenya once they are flushed out of Somalia and we shall track them with an aim of degrading their infrastructure in Somalia” said CS Duale.
The CS called on leaders and community elders to collaborate with security agencies and volunteer information in a bid to tame the incessant attacks from Al-Shabab militant group.

He commented the top security commanders stationed along the porous border for discharging their duties diligently.
Duale declared that the government has begun an all out war against Al-Shabaab which has been wrecking havoc in the country in recent months along the borders and even in Somalia.
” I would like to declare that the government has commenced war against Al-Shabaab in the borders and even in Somalia.” said CS Duale.
In a different note, Duale commissioned the construction of a borehole that shall be drilled by our Defence Forces to supply clean water for the local community in Gerille trading centre under the KDF civic duty programme so as to preempt the conflicts that arise from scrambling for resources.
