DHUSAMAREB– Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi QoorQoor has on Saturday received ,the new United Nations Special Representative for Somalia, Ms. Catriona Laing, at the Presidential Palace in the region’s capital Dhusamareb on Saturday.
They discussed a wide range of issues including strengthening cooperation between the regional State and the United Nations.
The discussions covered the security situation in the regional State, recent National Consultative Council resolution, the fight against Al-Shabaab and stabilization of areas seized from the militant group.

State building process and the upcoming elections in the regional State also featured prominently in the discussions.
QoorQoor thanked the UN Envoy for her visit to the region highlighting the importance of closer cooperation between the world body and the Federal Member State.
On her part, Ms Laing pledged the UN unwavering commitment to continue supporting support Somalia especially the regional State in multiple areas pertinent to both sides.
