KISMAYO– Somalia’s Jubbaland State leader has pledged to speed up the counterterrorism operations in his region.
He said this while chairing a meeting to discuss the elimination of Al-Shabab in Kismayo town on Friday.
In the high level security meeting which was attended by top Somali National Army and Jubbaland security officials, they agreed to liberate the towns that are under the control of the militant group.

Somali National Army and Dervishes forces from the regional State have in recent days stepped up operations against Al-shabab in several parts of the region in efforts aimed at wrestling the grip of the insurgents from areas under their mercy.
Jubbaland is among the regions where Al-Shabab operatives have large presence and occupy huge land.
