NAIROBI– Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale on Friday hosted the newly promoted Officers for a thanksgiving ceremony at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.
During the colourful event, the CS congratulated the officers saying their promotion was well deserved and urged them to deliver on the added responsibilities bestowed on them.
“These promotions were carefully considered, they were merit-based and are to drive a vision. Those promoted and designated new positions, am sure are all up to the task in making sure the constitutional mandate and set objectives of KDF will be effectively achieved. It’s a responsibility that comes with huge expectations,” said the CS.

Hon. Duale further assured them of his full support in their areas of responsibility so as to enable them to effectively achieve their new obligations.
On his part, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla hailed the officers for their merited and well-deserved promotion and urged them to continue being exemplary in their departments and endeavor to be the best.
“Where you have been appointed to, that is your best place to work in. Know that everything has been done and will be done with the interest of the Defence Force in mind and not by self-interest,” he said.
The Vice Chief of Defence Forces Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi also extended extolment and appreciation to the entire team and urged them not to be complacent but deliver on their new mandate.
The event was attended by the Service Commanders, General Officers and Senior Officers.
