Mandera county Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif has on Saturday launched the Mandera Bursary Fund for the financial year 2024.
In his address during the launching ceremony, governor Khalif said that the Elimu Kwa Wote initiative, launched by his administration in January 2023, has been instrumental in promoting education accessibility across the county.
He said that the programme has reached 24,973 students in 61 public secondary schools in Mandera County. Pointing out that 10,306 students from all 30 wards received bursaries.

Governor Khalif emphasized that since its inception , the Mandera County Bursary Programme has benefited 165,648 individuals, with budgetary allocation of Ksh 1,392,319,000 of which 810M was disbursed during my administration
The county boss further outlined that his government sponsored 382 out of 937 at Mandera Technical Training Institute which have significantly impacted the development and growth of technical skills and knowledge in the community.
He underlined his administration unwavering commitment to further supporting the vulnerable persons in the society who are unable to pay their fees in their different educational levels.
The governor eventually extended appreciations to the national government, and corporate entities such as KCB Bank, Equity Bank, National Bank and Cooperative Bank for their scholarship programs to needy and deserving students within the county.
