HABSWEIN- Wajir South Member of Parliament Mohamed Adow has Sunday released KSH 55 Million bursary funds in Habswein Ward, Wajir South Constituency.
Among the beneficiaries are needy learners in secondary schools, colleges, universities and students pursuing teaching courses across the universities and colleges.
Speaking when launching the bursary, Adow said the bursaries will cushion needy parents from the harsh economic times, and the biting drought that has hit the people of Wajir South Constituency.
“We have launched 55 ksh million bursary for Wajir south, the Constituency has witnessed some 6 successive failed rain season which have had impact on the people and their livestock , thus we hope the launch of the CDF will help many” said Adow.
Adow further added the CDF committee has been forced to allocate the highest amount possible in line with the National government constituency development fund rules, due to drought that has largely affected the constituency and the region at large.
The legislator asked the head teachers and principals of the schools in Wajir South Constituency not to chase any students for schools fees.
