NAIROBI– Garissa Woman Representative Udgoon Siyad has on Wednesday held meeting with representatives from Amref Kenya led by Mr. John Kutna.
They discussed range of issues including the planning for the impending Garissa Free Fistula Camp.
The camp is being implemented following a courtesy visit by the women MP to UNFPA Kenya Country Director Andes Thomsen.
During the meeting in May this year, the talks between the two officials encompassed various issues Primarily the partnership to restore the dignity of the affected women in Garissa County.
Possible areas of collaboration on women health and their well-being also prominently featured in the discussions.
According to Ms. Udgoon, the camp is scheduled to be convened in September and shall involve screening and corrective surgery for Obstetric Fistula among other services.
She also added that women from Garissa County and neighbouring counties are set to benefit from the camp.
The county MP has been involved in ambitious programmes that promote and enhances the well-being of women in her county who face myriad of challenges.
