NAIROBI– Muslim leaders in Kenya have vehemently condemned the ongoing extermination and unabated mass destruction by the Israel.

Speaking in a Press conference at Jamia Mosque in Nairobi on Sunday, the leaders encompassing religious, political and opinion figures called for the legitimate and genuine solution to problems bedeviling the Palestinians.

Abdullahi Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum (NAMLEF) exhorted Kenyans from all walks of life to express solidarity with Palestinians saying they have been under the mercy of the Israelis for decades.

He slammed the American government for fueling the ongoing atrocities in Gaza despite claiming to be advocating for democracy.

” The most shameful thing which we witnessed today is one of the super powers, the American government which claims that they carry the flag for democracy and human rights ha just mobilized one of its strongest fleet of air craft carriers, sub-marines equipped with nuclear power to come and support Israel.” said Abdullahi

Abdullahi exhorted the Kenyan government to severe ties with Israel and recall the Kenyan Ambassador.

He called on the National Assembly to petition the Israel government for her attacks against innocent civilians.

“Kenyan government should break relations with Israel recall back our Ambassador.We call upon the National assembly to petition israel govt for the attacks.” Abdi said.

The leaders said that the ongoing attacks as a genocide and extermination of Palestinians.

“The tragic events unfolding with the dire humanitarian crisis owing to the siege, blockade and indiscriminate bombardment from the air, sea and land of the Gaza Strip, by Israel, has had no parallel in history,” said the leaders .

The leaders decried about the destruction of health facilities, medical personnel and refugees camps and targeting of journalists by the Israel.

Hospitals, Doctors, Nurses and other medical personnel as well as marked ambulances, schools, UN shelters, and refugee camps have been deliberately targeted and completely destroyed.

“Vital resources like water, food, fuel for generators have run out. In addition, journalists, humanitarian workers, including staff of the United Nations and ICRC have been deliberately targeted.” read the statement in part.

The Muslim leaders called for the revering of the Al- Aqsa mosque, the third holiest Mosque in Islam and stoppage of aggression , bombardment, shelling , siege and blockage of the Gaza strip.

The leaders have also implored for the opening of humanitarian corridors in Gaza strip and restoration of vital supplies like Water and food t to the people of Palestine.

The statements by the leaders come amid mas displacement of Palestinians in the last seven days as the situation continues to get out of hand.

According to the Palestinian Health Minister at least 2,670 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza and more than 9,600 have been injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza.
