Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has sent his condolences to the family, friends and to all the Somali people on the passing on of renowned and leading Islamic Scholar Sheikh Abdinasir Haaji Ahmed who was killed in an explosion attached to his car in Kismayo town, Jubbaland State on Tuesday.
In a statement posted on Villa Somalia, President Farmajo described the deceased Sheikh as a person who devoted to the propagation of the Islam and has been a key pillar in the guidance of people to the right path.

“I wish to convey my condolences to friends, family and the entire Somali people on the death of Prominent Sheikh Abdinasir Haaji Ahmed who was a key pillar in the spreading of Islam and guiding people to the right path and faith.” said President Farmajo.
The President outlined that the terrorist attack against the Sheikh is a clear indication that the terror group is hellbent on countering the spread of the religion and prayed to Allah to grant him jabatul firdows.
The Prominent and leading Islamic Scholar who comes from Las-anod based was one of the Ex-key figures of Al-Ittihad al-Islami.
The Sheikh was killed in an explosion fitted to his car on Tuesday in Kismayo town where he has been for the last few days on a mission to propagate the religion.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killing of the cleric but Al-Shabaab militant group often target scholars, government officials, UN officials, AMISOM, government institutions and intelligence officers.
The group has in the recent days stepped up attacks across the country taking advantage of the current situation on the ground wher the Horn of Africa Nation is grappling with Parliamentary elections.
