Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has on Thursday evening paid courtesy visit to President of Somalia’s Puntland State President Said Abdullahi Deni.
PM Barre paid the courtesy call to the regional leader at his official residence in the National capital Mogadishu.
They discussed the current situation in the country and the fight against the Al-qaeda affiliate group -Al-Shabaab.
Deni is among State leaders who are attending the National Consultative Council meeting between federal government and regional states which kicked off in Mogadishu on Thursday.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is presiding over the National Consultative summit at the Presidential Palace of Villa Somalia.
The meeting is attended by the Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, his deputy Salah Jamaa , all the five regional government leaders of Puntland, Galmudug, Hirshabelle, Jubbaland and South West States and Governor of Banadir Region Yussuf Hussein Madaale.
The current prevailing humanitarian situation in the country and the ongoing offensive against Al-Shabaab are some of the top agendas that will feature in the meeting.
