A war of words has erupted between senior counsel AhmedNasir Abdullahi and the former principal secretary in the ministry of Foreign Affairs Amb. Macharia Kamau over ethnic profiling of Somalis.
In a Twitter spat seen by Frontier Online,
the popular city lawyer condemned the ex- PS for making racially motivated sentiments against the Somali community reminding him that Somalis are not foreigners in Kenya and will continue to live and stay in the country in perpetuity.
Kerrow in an outburst labelled Macharia as a failure who bungled the former administration prodding him to relocate to the horizon if he believes that he is losing Kenya to “Others”.
Horn of Africa analyst and the executive director of the Institute for Horn of Africa Strategic Studies Prof. Abdiwahab Sheikh Abdirahman chided Kamau over his comments accusing him of spearheading shallow and pathetic foreign policies during his tenure at the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The Professor defended the Somali community saying they disproportionately contribute to the economy of the country and are entitled for their piece.
The former Ambassador of Kenya to New York was reacting to a video published by Citizen TV showing a group of teachers from Northern Kenya camping at the Teachers Service Commission ( TSC) head quarters in Nairobi calling for their transfer from the region citing insecurity.
