MOGADISHU– Somali Minister of Fisheries Ahmed Hassan Adan has on Sunday met with Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Fei Shengchao in Mogadishu.
They discussed the renewed MoU with Chinese fishing cooperation (COFA), for mutual benefit.
The meeting also covered appreciating the Chinese government for their commitment to operate under the fishing laws established in the country.
The minister thanked Ambassador Shengchao for the support the Chinese government is lending to Somalia in the fishing sector calling for the bolstering of the sector and other activities under the ministry.

The Envoy said his government will cooperate with the federal government and support the development of the fishing sector and other initiatives aimed at helping the ministry achieve its goal.
He expressed delight at the progress undertaken by the Ministry in different facets including the fishing sector.
Chinese government has been entangled in supporting Somalia government in multi- faceted arenas primarily institutional and development projects, humanitarian assistance and military aid.
