President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has received a high delegation of officials from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The USAID officials are in the National capital Mogadishu for working official visit.
Ambassador Samantha Power, the Administrator of USAID, led the delegation to visit Villa Somalia for a meeting with President Mohamud on Sunday, July 24.
President Mohamud expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the USAID team.
He applauded USAID for its history of supporting Somalia and its people over the years too.
During the meeting, Mohamud also briefed the USAID delegation on the measures that his government is taking to address the ongoing devastating drought and the humanitarian crisis.
Mohamud assured the USAID delegation that his administration remains committed to bolstering the fight against Al-Shabaab insurgency in Somalia.
The President also informed the team that his administration has prioritized political stability, democratisation, and reconciliation.
