The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODOC) has been providing training to various judicial officers in Somalia on ways of countering human trafficking.

UNODOC Eastern Africa office conducted the training in Mogadishu on July 22.

10 judges and 20 public prosecutors took part in the training.

According to UNODOC Eastern Africa, the training is mandatory for all member states who wish to prosecute and sentence criminals behind human trafficking effectively.

Moreover, the training also enables authorities to deliver justice to the victims of human trafficking.
