MOGADISHU-Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has on Wednesday night held talks with the leaders of the regional states ahead of the conclusion and completion of the parliamentary elections.
In a statement, the office of the PM stated that the meeting focused on the completion of the elections, the security situation in the country and the dire drought in the regions of Somalia.
“The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, HE Mohamed Hussein Roble, tonight chaired a meeting of the National Consultative Council. The meeting discussed ways to complete the electoral process, the security situation and addressing the drought in the country,” the read the statement in part.
Somalia is expected to conclude the House of People elections this month with half of the parliamentary seats to yet to be elected.
Elections are continuing in several parts of the country as the regional State presidents work hard in ensuring the completion of elections within the stipulated timeline by the NCC assembly.
