Southwest state Electoral delegates have on Wednesday elected seven members to House of People in Barawe town of Lower Shabelle region.
In a statement from Southwest State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT), among the elected MPs are two females.
The first seat (HOP#165) was clinched by Salim Aliyow Ibrow who received 70 votes out of 101 possible votes. His closest rival got 17.
Yussuf Adan Mohamed won the seat (HOP#161) after beating his opponent Abdullahi Hussein by 80 votes to 7 votes.
Third seat (HOP044) was garnered by Maryan Mohamed Ali who received 73 votes against Faduma Hassan Omar who got 10 votes.

Abdullahi Hussein Ali
On the other hand, the elections of the Mps was halted after mortar shells hit the presidential palace.Two of the mortars hit residential houses leaving four people dead and injuring 8 others.
